First things are always significant as they set the course for all to follow. Putting first things first is being clear about what is most important, of the highest priority, and acting on the first thing’s conviction. Every day we exchange a day of our life for something. Once you spend your day’s coin it is spent, gone, and never returns. This series is a call to priorities, what is most important as stated in scripture. Give God the supreme place in your life simply by doing Matthew 6:33, “Seek first the kingdom of God.” As we start the new series let’s consider what we will seek, give our life to, our time, emotion, and focus. Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn said, “We always pay dearly for chasing after what is cheap.” This is why we start together this first Sunday to focus on the right biblical life priority, the first thing, “I will seek God first,” is the right decision. When you look at all the things that got your attention in the past and that you gave yourself to, are you happy with those choices? Good news: this is a new start; possibilities await you, God plans, God surprises, and a year different than any other year. Let your heart say, “I will seek the Lord as my first decision for this new season.”
