Racism has become one of the most heated topics of our time. The issue not only continues to create great division in our nation, but increased tensions in the church. For decades, the solution has been to segregate people based upon ethnicity and culture. Although people tend to be attracted to those of similar backgrounds, God had a different plan in mind. Biblical diversity is not the separation of different ethnicities, but the inclusion of those ‘tribes, tongues and nations’ becoming one within the church family. Cultural and ethnic distinctions are real and should be celebrated, but each should also strive to honor and respect each other equally and work toward complete unity. This God-dream of being united will bring hope and healing to a divided world!
